Hello from Strictly Bookkeeping, I'm very excited to be posting my first blog!
Bare with me though - I'm sure my posts will get more and more interesting as I get used to blogging!

I hope that by regularly updating you with my blogs, it will provide you with updates about my business, updates for your business and I'll try my best to make anything Bookkeeping related sound fun!

Right, here goes for the introduction so you can learn about me first before I get stuck into the proper blogging!

My journey began in 1998 when I left Wolstanton High School.  My then career choice of beauty therapy got knocked on the head when I was offered a job with DJH Accountants as an Audit Trainee.  I have to say, it was the best decision I made and I've never looked back.  However, at 16 years old, being thrown into a large accounting practice was very daunting and it took me a while to get used to it.  But, I kept my head down, worked hard, passed all my exams and took on  anything that was thrown at me.

After a few career moves over the years and working for some very well known and reputable companies locally and in Liverpool, I have gained amazing experience and knowledge which has lead me to where I am today.

So, where am I today?  I own Strictly Bookkeeping which in an ideal world, I'd love my company name to be the first to pop into peoples heads when they think of Bookkeeping or when they think 'help, I need a Bookkeeper'.

I set up my business three years ago after an opportunity was passed my way that I could not turn down.  The opportunity was two businesses that needed a freelance Bookkeeper.  I jumped at the chance, there was no way I was letting this slip through my fingers - I'd now got the chance of creating a business for myself.
Through hard work and building long lasting business relations, I have built up my client base and established my company.

Strictly Bookkeeping is going from strength to strength, despite setting it up right at the start of the most challenging and difficult recession the UK has seen in years.  My goal for the end of the year is to take on my first employee  to help me push my business to the next level.

I feel truly blessed to have my own business.  Over the years I have had amazing training and support, I've met so many different people which have all played a part in my personal development and learning curve.

Every day throws new challenges at you, every business is different.  Bookkeeping really isn't boring! It's a wonderful sense of achievement to find that odd penny you might not balance by! It's fantastic to help clients, knowing you are giving them piece of mind and they appreciate what you have done for them.
I'm at a different clients every day of the week, no day is ever the same.  My clients mean the world to me and it's pleasure to see their businesses grow.

See, it's really not all boring number crunching, I love my job and now I have done my first 'Introduction Blog', I shall look forward to posting my next one.

I hope you have enjoyed the little incite into how I got to create Strictly Bookkeeping.
